News from the Teaching Partnership…

It’s been a busy summer for the Teaching Partnership and lots of planning for events was done by us LPCs. Now Autumn is here and time to harvest the fruits of our hard work!

There is a full programme of Masterclasses across the Local Authorities that are accessible to staff across the region. BU are offering some sessions within those as well as other leading academics and practitioners, so exciting times for learning and development ahead.

I am going to undertake some research into Vicarious Trauma in Social Work practice and what actually keeps us in the job- despite the stress. I am hoping to draw on the knowledge and wisdom of practitioners across Children and Adult Services to develop messages for employers.

Teaching will start this week at BU and academics have been busy planning for the semester. An integral part teaching will be the link with practice and many seminars and modules have practitioners coming in to present case studies and discuss their work with  students. The aim is to equip students with the right knowledge and skills for the future.

So, if you would like to be involved in future research projects, teaching at BU or would like to take part in open days and the admissions process, there is an easy way to do this! Just fill out the “Expression of Interest Form” and email it to pdwtp@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon!
