Social Work; A Survival Guide – The 2019 Christmas Lecture by David Emery

2 December 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

David Emery is a registered and practicing Social Worker in Dorset. He is also a published author and has been nominated for the Peoples Book Prize for his first book Full Metal Cardigan which chronicles his adventures in social care from enthusiastic volunteer to feral frontline worker. Along the way he has contended with rescuing people from cults, sectioning a celebrity, dead cats in defrosted freezers, inadvertently undertaking a drugs run and jumping out of a moving car.

He has kindly agreed to deliver a fun and humorous Christmas lecture for the Pan Dorset & Wiltshire Social Worker Teaching Partnership, which will lift your spirits and provide a survival guide to Social Work!

This event is for all Adult and Childrens’ Social Care Workers across the Pan-Dorset and Wiltshire Social Work Teaching Partnership.
