COVID-19 has impacted on our personal and professional lives since March 2020 in the UK. Since lockdown measures were introduced by the Government to protect all citizens, Social Work has changed dramatically.
An integral part of SW education are placements and many of the BU Students had just started to settle into their practice settings when measures were enforced.
We would like to invite you as Practice Educators, Work-Based Supervisors and Placement Facilitators to discuss your learning from this experience. We want to hear from you what worked well and we want to listen to your worries for the next semester. As a Teaching Partnership, we are heavily invested into placements and Students’ experiences and want to offer the right support to Students and Placement Facilitators.
We want to work on planning for the next semester with you to ensure that Students get a rich and holistic learning experience in practice – whilst acknowledging that practice has changed for all of us.
Let’s learn from, with and for each other!
What we want to explore:
- Redefining direct practice
- Direct Observation – Just how?
- Supervision – support through remote tech tools
- Starting Placements in ‘the new normal’ – building trust and accountability
To book your place, please email pdwtp@bcpcouncil.gov.uk and we will send a meeting link via calendar invitation to you.
Take care and see you soon!
